Ged’s ‘QR’ of the week #17

Quote

“I’ve had a lot of worries in my life, most of which never happened.”

Mark Twain

Reflection

I have chosen this quote to tie in with the FREE Zoom session that I’m giving today at 10am, which is all about “How to be a great Catastrophizer”.

It’s a timely reminder to the Catastrophizer that most of the worry, stress and anxiety that they are creating within themselves is coming from their particularly negative and even destructive thinking, most of which they have no control over whatsoever. The fear of ‘what might happen’ is usually the imagination playing games with the reality, and creating scenarios which will probably never take place. It’s a case of Overthinking at its very worst. Or very best…!!! Because if you’re a great Overthinker, you’ll probably be a pretty good Catastrophizer.

There’s a story in my second book, “The Amazing Sequel“, called “The Anx”. Although it’s a ‘story’, it actually explains how the Catasrophizer works in all of us, or, shall I say, tries to!!
